Want to Pin More of your Blog?

Lately, I have read a lot of differing opinions on whether or not it’s okay to pin your own blog photographs on Pinterest. It ranges from “do not pin anything from your own blog”, to “pin some, not all”, to “pin at least one photo from every blog post”. As a newbie blogger, I find it gets a little confusing trying to do what is socially acceptable. Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with pinning your own blog photos. People go to Pinterest for inspiration, to see pretty pictures, etc. I don’t think we care who originally pinned what photo to which board (as long as we can follow the link back to the original website, of course).

I love Pinterest and have pinned all of my blog photos to one board marked CTV. I have also pinned a few photos to a recipe exchange board with lots of followers, in hopes to get CookTheTV more readers. I have just hit over 100 followers on Pinterest. It took about 6 weeks and I’m not really sure if that is good or bad, but I couldn’t be more excited!

To mark the milestone, I have created a couple of boards on Pinterest to help my fellow “mommy bloggers” (Or, in my case, Nana blogger) pin more of their own blogs.  The Mommy Blog Recipe Exchange and Mommy Blog DIY Exchange. You can see them here: http://pinterest.com/cookthetv/ I would like to invite all of you to join me as co-pinners to these boards. Here’s a chance to pin ALL of your blog photos. No worries about whether or not it’s okay to do so. This will be a place where it is not only okay to pin your own stuff, it is encouraged.

If you sign up to pin to these boards with me, you may pin any current photos from your blog now and add new photos as you post them. As many as you like, no limit. The more pinners and the more photos, the merrier! The only rule will be to make sure the pin is representative of the exchange board it is on. For instance, the boards are for food, DIY, crafts, home improvement, etc., not for pictures of the circus or a cute puppy. By the way, the Mommy Blog boards and CTV are always family friendly only. No inappropriate blogs or pins are welcome.

Here is all you have to do to sign up. First, follow this blog, either by email, rss feed, or Twitter. My Twitter page is here. Don’t worry, I will return your follow:) Then, leave me a message on this post and let me know you would like to be added. Don’t forget to let me know your Pinterest username. I will send you an invitation through Pinterest, as soon as possible. Please keep in mind, I’m usually online on weekday mornings. Sometimes, evenings and weekends, but not often. Please give me a day or two and you should see your invite. If you don’t receive it within one or two days, let me know and we will figure it out.

The Mommy Blog Recipe Exchange board is for just that; recipes. They can come from your blog or anywhere else on the internet you want to pin from.

The DIY Exchange board is for any Do It Yourself projects. Any crafts, home improvement, lawn and garden projects, blog improvement, even self improvement. These projects can also come from your own blog or anywhere on the web.
